The city residents have started getting the benefits of BSNL’s 4G network. Two base transmission systems (BTS) have been installed near Gayatri Nagar and Tibet Teaching Institute located in Pandeypur. 100 4G towers will be installed in the city by June 30 and 200 towers by the end of July.

Anil Kumar Gupta, general manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, located in Sigra, said on Friday that 4G services will also be started in the urban areas of Bhadohi, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Ghazipur districts by July 30. For 4G service, all the consumers who have 2G or 3G SIMs need to upgrade them to 4G SIMs. Consumers can upgrade by taking a free SIM from their nearest retailer.

26 4G devices have been installed in rural areas of Ghazipur, 14 in rural areas of Mirzapur, 12 in rural areas of Chandauli, 4 in rural areas of Bhadohi and 5 in rural areas of Sonbhadra. 4G devices in rural areas work on 700 MHz band, which is available on only a few mobile handsets. This frequency band is available in all new mobiles. Mobile bundling scheme is likely to come soon for rural areas.

DGM DK Upadhyay and MK Singh said that the work of converting landlines to fiber is in progress in Varanasi business area, so far about 2000 landlines have been replaced with fiber and the remaining ones will also be replaced by September. Speed ​​has been upgraded on the old plan by BSNL.
